Payal Singhal presents “Lady Sahara” at forthcoming Lakme Fashion Week

Payal Singhal now presents her Spring Summer ’14 Collection “Lady Sahara” the highlight of which are once again Payal’s signature prints, this time inspired by the French Moroccan culture and architecture of the period when the French occupied Morocco. It is an ode to the cultural crossroad of Marrakech, the shapes and the grace of Islamic architecture.

The collection done in tulle, linen and silk in muted colors of sand, grey, rose and pale blue is a modern interpretation of a bygone era. The intricate patterns of Moroccan filigree work are incorporated in detailed embroidery in beaten silver, gold and salmon “Kora”. The modern contemporary silhouettes reference the austerity of the time and the rich elaborate textures and cultures of the local land.

Look ‘urban glam’ in Pawan Sachdeva’s creations

The Urban Glam-3 Designer Pawan Sachdeva’s spring summer 2014 collection titled The Urban Glam is inspired by contemporary women and consists of everything that today’s women want – abstract prints in light-weight fabrics, minimal use of embellishments and much more.

The collection comprises floral and abstract prints in summery colours like orange and mint in fluid and light-weight fabrics like georgettes and cottons, said a statement.

It gives good options for evening wear, with varied silhouettes like tunics, A-line dresses, palazzo pants, jump suits, short-tops and shirts. The designer has played with styles and cuts and made lesser use of embellishments.
