Kiran Rao says her actor-filmmaker husband Aamir Khan supported her to present Anand Gandhi’s directorial “Ship of Theseus”.

“Aamir saw the film and he really liked it. He said nurture this film and give it a special release. I took advice from Aamir, but he was like an outside supporter. He said, ‘take care of this film’,” Kiran told reporters during the first-look launch of “Ship of Theseus”.

To be distributed by UTV Motion Pictures, “Ship of Theseus” is slated to release July 19. It has travelled to various film festivals.

The music launch of “Yamla Pagla Deewana 2″ Tuesday was a star- studded event with Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza, Rakesh Roshan, Kunal Kohli, and Juhi Chawla making the occasion extra special.

In lighter vein, Dharmendra said: “I have always wanted to say this and today everyone is there including the media. I want to say that I am the no. 1 dancer. My son Sunny has planned a special song for me, ‘Main aida hi nachna’.”

Directed by Sangeeth Sivan, “Yamla Pagla Deewana 2″ stars Dharmendra, Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol, Neha Sharma and Kristina Akheeva. The film is all set to release June 7.

At Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak reunion party both Aamir Khan and Imran Khan posed with their wives Kiran Rao and Avantika. It’s always interesting to see if the wives are well-dressed than their partners or is it the other way round. Can’t say that we are overly impressed with the ladies and even Avantika in her Anupamaa saree failed to make us jump for joy. As for the Khan men we think Imran is in the lead. Would you agree?

Recently Mr.Perfectionist Aamir Khan thanked everyone including his fans and family on completion of his 25 years in Indian Cinema. The actor also expressed his views on Indian Cinema which also celebrates its 100 years.

“I am feeling very happy about me completing 25 years in Indian Cinema. It feels like it was just yesterday when my first debut film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak met its release. It seems the time has moved fast. When I was new, I had no idea if I would become a star as we used to hear that actor’s life is for just 5 years. There were lot of insecurities in my heart when I started out. But today our Indian film industry is completing its 100 years and I complete my 25 years here.” said Aamir Khan.

The southern film industry is far more traditional than Bollywood, which caters to a wider audience and gives opportunities to women in technical fields, says actress Asin Thottumkal after a five-year stint in Hindi films.

“The south Indian film industry is more traditional. This reflects in their work. The cultural differences, language and approach are completely different, while Bollywood is more open and caters to a wider audience,” Asin told IANS in a telephonic interview from Mumbai.

There is another key difference, she added. Down south “people are ready to accept you the way you are. They appreciate and value simplicity. You don’t have to wear make-up or be in your glamorous image when you make public appearances”.

Bollywood celebrities have been busy jet setting around the world in 2012. While we can just get in and out of the airport without anyone taking any photos of us its different story for celebs who always have photographers chasing them.

You would guess that the celebs would make some sort of effort. In fairness a few do. Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan always look comfortable and smart. However take a look at Saif Ali Khan and Salman Khan very casual looks.

Imran Khan is pasting posters of his new film “Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola” on taxis.

“Twenty four years ago Aamir uncle pasted the posters of his film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. I remember him telling the story that he and my mother were roaming around the by-lanes of Bandra and seeking the permission of rickshaw drivers to paste the posters of his film and telling them that he is the hero of the film,” the 29-year-old said

“Flash forward 24 years and I find myself doing the same thing. Actually in our city public transport is the most important thing whether it is rickshaw, taxis or buses, it has always been the lifeline of the city. I think it is the easiest way to communicate and reach out to the people,” he added.

It wasn’t a dream start for Sonam Kapoor in Bollywood, with most of her films only doing average business at the box office. The unfazed actress, however, looks at everything in a positive way and considers it all a part of her growth.

“There are no regrets, it is all about looking at things positively and regarding everything as a part of your growth. I don’t think anyone should have regrets, whether it is your personal decisions or your career choices, as you learn from them,” Sonam told reporters in an exclusive interview.
