Sonam Kapoor, who will now be seen in her forthcoming film “Raanjhanaa”, says she considers it a big achievement that she has escaped being typecast in the film industry.

“I don’t compare my life with the success ratio. I am not getting typecast and that’s my biggest achievement. I want to be able to do different roles and I have consciously decided it and not done typical roles,” Sonam told IANS.

“Raanjhanaa”, directed by Anand L.Rai, also stars southern actor Dhanush.

“There are lots of films which even I have said no to, but I never talk about it, I never discuss it because I respect my co-star, producers and directors. But I can assure you that I was always the first choice for ‘Raanjhanaa’,” she added.

The film releases Friday.

The city of Ahmedabad welcomed with open arms the new on screen couple – Sonam Kapoor & Dhanush. The Raanjhanaa pair was all decked up to be a part of Campus Blues – Denim Fest held at Globus store in Ahmedabad.

This time Sonam Kapoor dressed up in Gaurang Shah. The ensemble looked voluminous and creased on her. Perhaps that was the intentional look of the material but can say that this is a not a favourite look of ours. It’s too much and Sonam Kapoor is not with grips with her dupatta which appears to be neither here or there but just everywhere!!

Bollywood’s chirpy, young and fashionable actress Sonam Kapoor loves being surrounded by her ilk and feels men sometimes “bring negativity” into women’s lives.

The 27-year-old, who has played feminine roles in films like “Aisha” and “I hate Luv Stories”, enjoys the company of women.

“I love girls; I surround myself with only women. I think men bring negativity into your life sometimes. Only women work with me,” Sonam told reporters in an interview.

Raanjhanaa have released the first song of the film- ‘Tum Tak’. The music album of the film has been one of the most anticipated, with the Oscar-winning A. R. Rahman composing the music for the film. Featuring the lead couple- Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor, the newly released song has already taken off on a high note!

Tum Tak portrays Sonam Kapoor in a new avatar alongside Dhanush, who marks his debut in Bollywood with the film. Set in Benaras, Dhanush plays the role of Kundan, a love-struck boy whose world starts and ends with the beautiful Zoya (Sonam Kapoor). The song beautifully captures the love story between the duo, the breathtaking backdrop of Benaras and of course the soothing music of Rahman.

The much anticipated trailer of Sonam Kapoor-Dhanush starrer ‘Raanjhanaa’ has been released by Eros International. The movie stars Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in lead roles.

Directed by Aanand L Rai of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ fame, the love story marks the debut of South superstar Dhanush in Bollywood. The trailer manages to hold audiences’ attention and makes you fall in love all over again. The movie is shot extensively in Banaras and the trailer gives an excellent glimpse of it. The trailer shows both Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor playing school students with Dhanush following Sonam Kapoor and falling head over heels for her.

Sonam Kapoor, who is busy shooting for her new film “Raanjhana”, says it has revived her passion for acting.

“I rediscovered my passion for acting because of ‘Raanjhana’ and my love for the human spirit,” Sonam tweeted.
