We have seen enchanting Amrapali jewels on the red carpet worn by a number of Bollywood and Hollywood celebs and with Valentine’s Day coming up isn’t it time that we start to dream of what we would like to have.

Amrapali showcased some fantastic pieces at India International Jewellery Week 2012 that still make us drool.

India International Jewellery Week 2012 finished off with Sonam Kapoor walking the ramp for the finale but earlier Bollywood celebs were lining up to take the ramp for their chosen brand all hoping for that added publicity.

Our only concern is that did the audience look at the jewels or did they look at the celebs and forget what they were wearing? Maybe it’s just us being cynical nevertheless a few show stoppers definitely set the ramp on the fire…….we hope for the right reasons.

The India International Week 2012 put up a wonderful display of jewels that made us drool. It was not the show stoppers that always got our attention but a few models made us green with envy with what they wore.

We particularly liked Aavriti Jain designs. The head piece is so unique. The sparkly star earrings from Manish Khatter are just ideal for a glam evening event.

While we liked the trinkets we wonder how much they would cost. Judging by the diamonds, emeralds and rubies used probably millions. Oh well no harm in looking and yearning.

PC Jeweller presented the “Best of the Best” shows featuring outstanding ornaments during the dual Grand Finales to end the third edition of India International Jewellery Week 2012.

Madhuri Dixit Nene was the showstopper who sashayed down the ramp wearing an Anamika Khanna gorgeous black gown with embroidery displaying the magnificent Jeweller’s Polki Raani Haar collar and choker edged with pearls to thunderous applause.

PC Jeweller presented the “Best of the Best” shows featuring outstanding ornaments during the dual Grand Finales to end the third edition of India International Jewellery Week 2012.

PC Jeweller showed stunning rings, earrings, necklaces, bangles, pendants and sets in 22 K gold, diamonds, Kundan and Polki designs which created magic on the ramp.

Madhuri Dixit Nene wearing an Anamika Khanna gorgeous black gown with embroidery displaying the magnificent PC Jeweller’s Polki Raani Haar collar and choker edged with pearls to thunderous applause.

In an Anamika Khanna outfit, Sonam Kapoor, elegant brand ambassador of IIJW 2012 walked the ramp wearing a brilliant Polki necklace with a superb tasselled pendant, along with rows of intricate kadas on hands, a Maang Tikka and small ear studs.

Nakshatra part of the Gitanjali collection had all the infinite and ethereal glamour it is renowned for. Inspired by the Kudajodi, the Nakshatra jewellery considered auspicious, showers the wearer with blessings.

Vanya Mishra, Miss India 2012 walked the ramp wearing gorgeous gold/diamond earrings and a lovely creation by Vaishali Shadungule.

But the best was yet to come, when the very glamorous Bipasha Basu, the brand ambassador of Gili, thrilled the audience with her stunning entry in a Neeta Lulla creation wearing a diamond and gold set.

Asmi as part of Gitanjali Group showcased their contemporary jewellery designs, which were feminine yet striking in concept and styles.

The collection consisted of pretty earrings and necklaces were delicate in their glitter and beauty. Kundan and ruby chandeliers, Polkis, little studs with ruby trials.

Ending the show was Neha Dhupia showing five rows of Polkis with rubies and emerald wearing a chic outfit by Nishka Lulla

Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas gave a dazzling presentation at the India International Jewellery Week 2012 of hand crafted gold diamond and enameled jewellery.

“Aranya” the new contemporary line featured uncut and flat cut diamonds, coloured gems and designs was influenced by animal and floral patterns.

Sushmita Sen, wearing a black corset with a peplum and a high slit skirt created by Felix Bendish sashayed down the ramp wearing a sensational glittering necklace with sparkling star motifs on either side from the “Aranya” collection.

To match the beauty of the ornaments, the gorgeous creations for the models were by designer Nisha Merchant.
