Being a celebrity comes with a price but Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor says she likes everything about stardom, including the constant attention and the odd hours.

“I like everything about stardom. I don’t mind being in the public eye. If anyone tells you that they want to be a film actor but they don’t want to be a star, that means they are lying. I love acting and love the fact the people like both my work and me. I am not pretentious enough to say that I cannot stand the attention,” Sonam told IANS in an interview.

The 27-year-old, who was seen in “Aisha” and “I hate Luv Stories”, will be next seen in Aanand L. Rai’s “Raanjhanaa” as well as “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” and YRF’s untitled film. Sonam will also be seen in the remake of 1980 film “Khubsoorat” that was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and starred Rekha and Rakesh Roshan in the lead roles.

Satish Gupta’s exhibition of large sculptures and sculpture paintings (a new concept) opened last evening to rave reviews and admiring audiences.

Jaya Bachchan who likes the artist’s works inaugurated the show. Mrs Bachchan who looked gorgeous in a red saree walked with Satish Gupta who explained the works. Gallerist Tarana Khubchandani of Gallery Art & Soul played the perfect host spending time with guests.

The Bachchan clan raised a whopping Rs.25 lakh (Rs.2.5 million) for a charity through sale of special paintings, based on interpretations of Amitabh Bachchan, and a book, which was unveiled to mark the megastar’s 70th birthday.

The proceeds from the sale were given to charity organisation Plan India for their Girl Child Campaign, in the presence of Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek and Aishwarya.

Amitabh says he and his wife Jaya have never believed in discrimination.

“I have always believed there is no difference between a male and female child. I have said it on many forums, and I say it here again. I have a son and a daughter and whatever little we have, will be equally divided,” he said.

Suniel Shetty’s wife Mana Shetty is the latest to enter the interiors business with the launch of her home interiors store – R House.

Suniel says a huge chunk of their products have been made by Indian artisans and that setting up a store was something they have been thinking of for a long time.

“This was Mana’s dream and it is also my dream because 90 percent of the products are Indian. I am a patriotic man, I love my country and to appreciate small town artisans were required,” says Suniel,

The best of Bollywood came to celebrate the legendary legacy of filmmaker Yash Chopra at the premiere of his film “Jab Tak hai Jaan” Monday at Yash Raj Films studios.

The cast of the film, Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma greeted the guests along with Yash Chopra’s son Uday Chopra and wife Pamela.

“We are missing him every moment. I hope everyone enjoys the film. His legacy has been wonderfully celebrated,” Shah Rukh said.

Memories of the late filmmaker filled the red carpet with posters from his pictures placed along the carpet.

Guests included the cream of the industry like Amitabh Bachchan with wife Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and c with wife, Karan Johar, Imran Khan, Hritik Roshan, Randhir Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor.

The grand annual celebration of Durga Puja organized by North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samity saw over 25,000 devotees visiting the pandal at Hotel Tulip Star.

Every year, the pandal is visited by famous personalities from the Bollywood fraternity and this year was no different. Kajol and her mother Tanuja visited the pandal to offer their prayers to the deity and also served Bhog to the adoring fans and devotees.
