A splattering of celebs and socialites turned up for Wills at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2013 on Day 1.

Many wore the Masaba Gupta / Satya Paul designs…Mandira Bedi, Neena Gupta, Pernia Qureshi amongst others. Other celebs showed their allegiance to their favourite designers less obviously.

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2013 opened in Delhi with designer Masaba’s show for Satya Paul. Masaba reused the neon trend with a twist of incorporating it with pastel and basic hues. We loved the dominance of colours on the runway as the models donned bright tangerine, pink and lime green dresses with sequins details.

We also spotted several foreigners with fashion week’s regular Shahnaz Hussain. There was also a digital display of the colourful theme of the show as the walls splattered with colours. Models wore bright lipsticks and carried suitcase handbags to pay homage to this theme.

We loved the abstract prints, trench coat dresses and Satya Paul’s signature sarees as the show progressed.

All in all Style Me India loved this autumn winter collection this season.

Masaba Gupta’s first creations for Satya Paul will kick-start the 21st edition of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) here Wednesday. The event will see 128 designers showcasing plethora of works and colours on the ramp and wooing buyers from destinations like Japan and Australia.

Dominated by India-inspired themes, the five-day event will also have a solo show by youngster Aneeth Arora, while Manish Arora has been named the grand finale designer.

An initiative of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the fashion event will take place at Pragati Maidan.

The upcoming edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW), to be held next month, will have 128 designers showcasing their collection on the ramp and racks.

The WIFW organising body, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) Wednesday announced the list of designers who will take part at the five-day extravaganza, which starts March 13.

It’s quite easy to see the appeal of Masaba Gupta’s quirky designs. They are fresh, bright and wonderfully enchanting.

We don’t know about you but we here are just drooling over the designs. We only wish that Huma Qureshi had also worn a saree as well. How cool would of that been

Catch all the glorious ladies that attended the event that took place on the announcement of the appointment of designer Masaba Gupta as Fashion Director for the Satya Paul brand.

Masaba was handpicked by the Genesis Colors board for her fearless fashion sensibilities, as well as for her deep understanding of the practicalities of women’s dressing.

“I am honoured and humbled to be appointed at fashion director at Satya Paul, a brand that I have admired and have had an aesthetic connect with since I was a young girl. With this exciting yet challenging position, I hope to bring to the brand a lyrical and youthful image, keeping the aesthetic and soul of Satya Paul intact,” said Masaba Gupta.

It always intrigues us what fashion designers have in their wardrobe. Is it full of their own designs? They can’t very well go to an event and then wear other designer’s outfit as the more they wear their own the more publicity for them and they certainly will not do that in a store that stocks their creations!!

So here we have the three designers at Fuel Fashion Store Launch: Masaba Gupta, Neeta Lulla and Nishka Lulla. Nishka Lulla is wearing one of her own creations, Neeta Lulla wore something very similar at Blenders Pride when she was show casing her designs and as for Masaba Gupta we think she just decided to wear something casual and look smart.

Ever since we saw Anushka Sharma at Talaash premiere it kept going on in our minds that we had seen a sort of a similar look before but where? Then the penny / rupee / dollar dropped. It was Masaba Gupta who had worn a similar long skirt teamed with a black top before.

Was Anushka trying to replicate the look? If she was then she did a fair job.
