Dipannita Sharma looking cool and relaxed in a summery jumpsuit launched PETA’s Extra-Vegan-Za stall at The Indian Luxury EXPO.

It has been reported that Dipannita Sharma told PETA, ‘I am against cruelty towards animals. We all belong to the animal kingdom. We as humans have the ability to think and express ourselves. Hence we should take care of animals, who don’t have the freedom of expression that we have.’

John Abraham has urged the government to end use of animals in circus performances.

On behalf of animal rights organisation PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) India, John has written a letter to Jayanthi Natarajan, Minister for Environment and Forests, urging her to make all circuses in India animal-free.

In the letter, John has pointed out that animals in circuses are routinely beaten and forced to perform unnatural tricks against their will.

Sherlyn Chopra is advocating animal birth control as part of a programme by People For Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

“Let us spread the good word of ABC – Animal Birth Control. Why? The bottom line is that animals would if they could, but sadly or unfortunately they cannot use condoms, so it is upon us to sterilise them. It is our responsibility,” Sherlyn said here Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Sherlyn also revealed that in almost 15 days, a press conference will be held for her film “Kamasutra 3D”.

Clutching the meat hook with her body wrapped in cellophane, model-actress Anupama Verma poses for a new advertisement for People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) that urges people to follow vegetarian lifestyle.

“I hope my PETA ad helps challenge people to really think about what ‘meat’ is. Eating flesh means eating the corpse of a tortured animal who did not want to die. We are encouraging people to try going vegetarian – for animals, the environment and their own health,” Varma said in a statement.

Chitrangada Singh attended PETA‘s new campaign against testing cosmetics on animals and also promoted the film Joker.

The actress was bang on trend in a Yogesh Chaudhary dress which was showcased at Lakme Fashion Week 2012 only recently.

We loved the canary yellow and electric blue colours. She teamed the dress with fabulous blue heels and kept her hair down.

The overall result was pretty and fresh.

Poorna Jagannathan appears in a brand-new ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India posing next to the words “I Am Poorna Jagannathan, and I Am a Vegetarian”,

Poorna Jagannathan also sported a PETA T-shirt that reads, “Eat No”, followed by a sketch of a cow.

The ad was shot by leading photographer Gaurav Sawn. Styling was done by Chandni Bahri, and Jagannathan’s make-up and hair were been done by Sandhya Shekar.

Pamela Anderson who is also an animal rights activist, has adopted an Indian homeless puppy with the help of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals [PETA]

“When Anderson came to India to appear as a guest on Bigg Boss 4, her heart was captured by the plight of the homeless dogs she saw on the streets,” the PETA official said.

“When Anderson, an honorary director of PETA US, learned that PETA India chief functionary Poorva Joshipura was headed to the US to meet with her overseas colleagues and her family, she asked if Joshipura would take along a homeless Indian puppy,” the official added.

“Anderson has decided to name her new family member Pyari, or ‘loved one’.”
