Pooja Kapoor at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2013 Lakmé Fashion wove a story around beautifully tailored outfits.

The fabric selection included cotton, silk, silk Noile and chiffon.The colours remained neutral with white and ecru moving to yellow and brown for the fusion range that comprised dresses, tunics, skirts and saris. Embellishments on the garments included ribbons, riveting and block prints.

Overall an interesting collection, tangy and stylish. Not sure why the models had white tags on their arms and what purpose they served.

In its 13th year, Lakme Fashion Week has lined up 86 designers, including veterans Pallavi Jaikishan and Ritu Beri, from across the country.

From big names such as Wendell Rodricks, Neeta Lulla, Anita Dongre, Krishna Mehta to young talents Pooja Kapoor, Atithi Gupta, Roma Narsinghani and Isabelle Mittal have been roped in to present exotic designs on the ramp at the upcoming edition of winter-festive 2012 starting Aug 3.

Yesterday at the press meet it was a chance for the participating designers to promote their designs and many decided to dress in their own collections.

Purnima Lamba, Head (Innovations), Lakme, interacted with the media and said that Kareena Kapoor, who walked for Manish Malhotra two seasons ago, might well be the showstopper for the grand finale of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012.
