With the release of the exclusive first look poster of Eros International & Bhansali Production’s Ram Leela – leading lady Deepika Padukone is the cynosure of all eyes, as her rustic-desi avatar was an immediate hit.

The lehenga she sports in the poster weighed a whopping 30 kgs and has a 50 meter ghera designed by Anju Modi, who went out of her way to bring the intricacies of Kutch to Deepika’s wardrobe in Ram Leela to meet Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s exacting standards.
Says designer Anju “Sanjay and I were very clear about the look we wanted to give Deepika. So, while the lehengas had to reflect the royal lineage of the Kutch region, they also had to have a very contemporary feel as Ram Leela is not a period drama,”

Deepika Padukone, who made a dream debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2007 movie “Om Shanti Om”, reunites with the superstar on screen for “Chennai Express” and says the two are closer now.

“I feel Shah Rukh is still the same. He is as talented as he was (then). Now I have got even closer to him than before. You never get bored with him! He always makes me feel special,” Deepika told reporters.

Kareena Kapoor has walked out of the upcoming project Ram Leela produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Kareena has a full diary in the upcoming months promoting Heroine and of course her marriage to Saif Ali Khan and it looks like the workload was becoming a bit too much.

“I walked out a week ago. I had allotted 100 days for the shooting in August as per contract but Mr Bhansali wanted more days to shoot. My managers Reshma Shetty and Zahid Khan thought about it and decided it wasn’t possible as I have signed three new big films for next year. The shooting for one of them begins in October immediately after the release of Heroine. I’ve also given 32 days of promotional time for Heroine as it’s a very special film for me. That wouldn’t have been possible if I had given those dates to Ram Leela.” Kareena Kapoor said

It also looks like Priyanka Chopra has stepped in to Kareena’s shoes and will now play her part in the film.
