Deepika Padukone ‘ It gives a bad name to the sport’
Deepika Padukone, daughter of badminton icon Prakash Padukone, says sports was pure and clean during her father’s time. She rues how malpractices such as spot-fixing can give any sport a bad name.
Following news of actor Vindu Dara Singh’s association in the recent spot-fixing scandal of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Deepika says it is sad how because of a few people, several others come in the ambit of doubt.
“It gives a bad name to the sport. It is unfair just because of a few people following this malpractice, you start doubting everybody else. As a country if you want to shine or if you want to be on the same level economically or otherwise (with others), I think it’s important that sports people in our country do really well and this (spot-fixing) is not really helping that,” Deepika told reporters at an event.
Ranbir Kapoor ‘first actress in front of whom I am a bit intimidated’
He vouches for friendly competition with his contemporaries, but Ranbir Kapoor confesses his “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” co-star Deepika Padukone is the only one in the industry who intimidates him.
Ayan Mukerji-directed “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” has brought the real life ex-couple together on the screen after five years – their first and the last film together was 2008 movie “Bachna Ae Haseeno”.
“I always expected from Deepika to reach very high levels, but I had no idea that she will become such a fine actress so soon. She is the first actress in front of whom I am a bit intimidated,” said Ranbir, who himself has wowed people with variety in roles he played in films “Wake Up Sid”, “Raajneeti”, “Rockstar” and “Barfi!”.
Ranbir Kapoor: I would like spend the next 15 to 20 years of my life on film sets
Ranbir Kapoor says he would love to face the camera for films for the next 15 to 20 years, and that he also desires to direct movies in the future.
“I would like spend the next 15 to 20 years of my life on film sets and that I keep on getting opportunities to work with good directors. That is my plan, but whenever we make plans, god laughs at us. I hope to continue working as an actor,” the 30-year-old actor said here.
“I want to make movies also . That’s something I would love to do – direct a movie,” added Ranbir at a promotional event for his forthcoming film “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” also features Deepika Padukone. It releases May 31.

Deepika Padukone ‘Don’t try and follow fashion blindly’
When it comes to fashion and style, Deepika Padukone puts the best foot forward. The model-turned-actress feels it is good to keep up with the times, but suggests fashion trends should not be followed blindly.
“Don’t try and follow fashion blindly. Yes, of course, trends keep changing, fashion keeps changing and people believe that you should keep up with the times and I don’t think that’s a bad thing to do. But think at the same time, you should not forget your own personality, the person that you are, your body type, your confidence level and dress accordingly,” said the actress while sharing fashion tips at an event.
Ranbir Kapoor ‘I also kissed on her cheek. It was lovely’
Ranbir Kapoor, who shared dance moves with Madhuri Dixit in one of the songs in his forthcoming film “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, got affectionate with the dhak-dhak girl.
“Madhuri is great and I am glad I got an opportunity to dance with her. She is very talented, very hardworking and always on time. I also kissed on her cheek. It was lovely,” said the 30-year-old.
“Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is scheduled to release May 31. The film also features Deepika Padukone.

Ranbir Kapoor ‘I like to travel alone and over the years I have become a loner’
Ranbir Kapoor, who loves travelling, says he is a loner and prefers to travel alone.
“I like to travel alone and over the years I have become a loner. I don’t need any company… I can even have my lunch alone. I am very comfortable with myself and don’t need any company,” the 30-year-old told reporters at an event organised by MakeMyTrip here Sunday.
Recollecting his memories of his first trip with his friends, Ranbir said: “My first trip with my friends was when I finished my 10th standard and we went to Goa. It was a great experience as it was my first trip without my parents. The way I looked at life completely changed after that trip. I can’t say what we did there.”

Neetu Singh and Ranbir Kapoor were voted as India’s most popular mother-son and Tanuja-Kajol as best mom-daughter team in an online poll conducted by Shaadi.com.
The poll, conducted on the occasion of Mother’s Day, suggested that 82.26 per cent of Indian women believe that actress Neetu and her actor-son Ranbir share the popular mother-son relationship.
Actress Tanuja and her actress-daughter Kajol topped the most popular mother-daughter relationship list with 60.48 per cent votes.
