Rina Dhaka’s love for Indian textiles continued at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2013 as she chose to showcase a collection that was the reminiscent of the 1990s with widespread usage of the fabric.

The ensembles featured straight shifts and drop waist silhouettes, A-line dresses with black as the reigning colour along with blends of grey, maroon and white.

The fabrics varied from chiffons, georgettes, organzas with prints of monochrome paisley, red and yellow ikat, tweed and honeycomb.

Time now to grab designer wear at marked down prices. A host of designers are set to sell their high-end collections at low prices as part of a shopping fiesta titled Splurge.

Designers like Gaurav Gupta, JJ Valaya, Ranna Gill, Shantanu-Nikhil, Rahul Khanna-Rohit Gandhi and Rina Dhaka will be a part of the one-of-its-kind exhibition.

Organised by Delhi Dynamic Round Table 157′ (DDRT157), an organisation dedicated to the socially bereaved children, the event will be held Feb 22 at the Sheraton here.

Gupta feels happy to be the part of the event.

India Branch of Cotton Council International (CCI) hosted a one-day event in Mumbai celebrating cotton. The event featured a series of cotton-focused fashion shows from designers Rina Dhaka and Anita Dongre.

The event is an attempt to promote cotton to consumers and fashion industry professionals.

Cotton Council International (CCI) is delighted to announce the winner of the fourth season of its fashion designcontest – Let’s Design. Jury members Rina Dhaka and Shantanu & Nikhil Mehra with Malaika Arora Khan, Sameera Reddy and Prateik graced the occasion at Raj Kamal Studio, Parel. This pan-India competition gave aspiring designers an opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity with the country’s most important textile fibre and the backbone of Indian fashion –cotton.

Happy Birthday to Kalki Koechlin.  A very talented young lady. Right from her debut film Dev D, for which she also won Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress, Kalki made sure she was here to stay. As a fashion model she looked sultry in a silver halter gown at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2012.  She  has also walked the ramp for designer Rina Dhaka with My Friend Pinto co-star Prateik Babbar.

She has a knack for choosing simple, clean line and an expert in effortless dressed-up daytime ensembles.
