Just when will Bollywood ever get it right? As the world celebrates 100 years of Indian cinema, Indian stars, it seems, went a little overboard in projecting the ethnic, oriental look at the Cannes red carpet that saw Sonam Kapoor, Vidya Balan and Sherlyn Chopra either going big on bling or heavy on jewellery and embroidery.

Aishwarya Rai, who has been a regular at Cannes for 11 years, didn’t go for the Indian look but was panned for her choice of clothes and hair.

The display seemed surprising, considering that well-known designers like Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Anamika Khanna and Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla were helping the stars put their best foot forward at the Cannes International Film Festival, which began May 15 and ends May 26.

It’s that time of the week again when we look at which celeb dressed the best. It was a busy week with many celebs trying to look their best on the red carpet at the Stardust Awards 2013 and not forgetting all the film promotions.

Huma Qureshi was seen on the red carpet at Zee Cine Awards, Screen Awards, and Filmfare Nomination Party 2013 all glammed up

Looking at her style we absolutely loved her in Sabyasachi and felt that everything worked for her from head to toe. At Screen Awards the green colour was bold but we were not so keen on the look.

At Filmfare Nominations Party she opted for a Burberry dress with a waist belt and Burberry clutch. She looked impeccable. It appears that black is her colour.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended Longines Singapore Gold Cup 2012 wearing a scarlet Sabyasachi ensemble.

Polka dots never looked as appealing as they did on the duppata. Who would have thought the tiny scarlet dots will leave one rushing out to buy the outfit.

Aishwarya Rai looks amazing and so radiant. Motherhood suits her well.

Vidya Balan attended Jehangir Art Gallery, India’s most prestigious art destination, celebrations its sixtieth anniversary this month. To celebrate the occasion, The Jehangir Art Gallery presented “India Modern” an evening of Art, Fashion & Music.

The evening started with a vote of thanks by none other than Vidya Balan, followed by a fashion presentation by Sabyasachi.

We are very much used to Vidya Balan wearing Sabyasachi at all of her events so it was a surprise when we saw Vidya wearing a Masaba Gupta creation.

We thought she looked stunning in the black and pink sari.

Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has shot down reports that he is designing Aishwarya Rai’s clothes for the Cannes red carpet.

“I don’t know from where this news is coming. I am not styling Aishwarya for Cannes red carpet,” Mukherjee told reporters.

It was reportedly said that the newly turned mom, who received criticisms from some quarters for her post pregnancy weight, will don a creation by Mukherjee during her appearance at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival.
