As the Indian Cinema celebrates 100 years of its existence Bollywood actresses and fashionista Sonam Kapoor shared her love for classic look and said she copied legendary Madhubala’s sari from a song for an event.

“There was a sari of Madhubala from ‘Achcha ji main haari…’ I actually copied that sari for Filmfare’s press conference,” Sonam told IANS.

“It was a very simple and elegant blue sari with black border. The blouse had three-fourth sleeves and the back had black buttons on the right,” she added.

In spite of being part of an erstwhile royal family, Saba Ali Khan, elder daughter of the late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, says she doesn’t run after designer brands.

“I am not a brand person at all. I love wearing garments that look good on me and this can be from anywhere,” Saba told reporters on the sidelines of the launch of autumn- winter collection of Swiss brand Bally, here.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor

After exchanging wedding vows in a low key marriage ceremony. Newly wed Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were spotted leaving for Saif’s home Pataudi where they will dine with Saif’s extended family.

The wedding so far has been in contrast Esha Deol’s who allowed photographers at her wedding while Saif and Kareena have tried to keep their wedding as private as possible. Judging by their body language both were keen to avoid the camera’s again yesterday.

They will be back in Delhi in the evening for another reception where Saif’s mother Sharmila Tagore is said to have invited the President of India.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor completed the formalities of a registered marriage Tuesday afternoon and became husband and wife.

The marriage took place at Saif’s Bandra home.

While Kareena’s mother Babita and father Randhir Kapoor signed as witnesses from the bride’s side, Saif’s mother and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore signed as a witness from the groom’s side.

The latest news about the much awaited wedding between Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan is that designer Ritu Kumar will be in charge of designing the wedding outfits for Kareena Kapoor

Previously it was said that Kareena Kapoor will be wearing the ‘joda’ that her mother in law Sharmila Tagore wore. Sharmila’s ‘joda’ was gifted to her by her mother-in-law, Begum Sajida Sultan of Bhopal.

Ritu Kumar has however recreated the original ensemble using gold Benaras fabric and will also be designing outfits for Saif’s sisters Soha and Saba.

Roll on wedding. We can’t wait to see who will wear what.

So much media interest in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s upcoming wedding and of course we are not far behind. The latest news is that he will fly to London to shop for his wedding.

So much of the wedding has been kept under wraps but we do know that Kareena will be wearing a red colour sari designed by Manish Malhotra on the day of the wedding reception and was there not news that she will wear her mother in laws wedding dress for the day itself.

Now other bit of news is that Sharmila Tagore has started to distribute wedding cards although we are yet to receive ours….hmm

Kareena Kapoor will don Sharmila Tagore’s sharara for her wedding day but Kareena Kapoor but unlike Sharmila will not change her name or convert to Islam it has been rumoured.

Saif Ali Khan has said that he does not believe that one has to change their religion when they get married although his own mother Sharmila who is a Bengali took the name of Ayesha Begum and his first wife Amrita Singh, too, converted and adopted a Muslim name.

It is still uncertain whether the wedding will be done in Hindu tradition or follow Islam rituals.

Wonder what Muslim name Kareena would choose if she did decide to change her name?

Sharmila Tagore has confirmed that her son Saif Ali Khan will get married to Kareena Kapoor on October 16, 2012, with the mehndi and sangeet taking place on October 15.

“Yes, that’s the date we have decided upon. There will be a reception, too, but not a very big one.” Sharmila Tagore said

It is thought that the wedding will be low key and only a family affair at Saif’s ancestral home in Pataudi.

However the reception date has not been revealed yet and is likely to be a much more lavish affair!

This is the first wedding for Kareena, and it is the second for Saif who already has two children.
