Shruti Haasan who will be seen in Nikhil Advani’s ‘D-Day’ has already created whirlwind as her pictures from her upcoming movie were released. Shruti plays the character of Suraiya, a Karachi based prostitute.

As a part of the character’s look Shruti required to have a scar on her face. A source says, “The story of the scar dates back to Suraiya’s past, when she entered the world of sex trade at 16. She was given this scar when her face was cut open by a pimp”. Shruti’s father, the legendary Kamal Haasan, who has over the years experimented with his looks in various films involving make-up and prosthetics, gave his inputs on the look of the scar.

Shruti Haasan who was last seen in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji is back again in the Bollywood. This time, Shruti has two films releasing back-to-back for her. One is Prabhudheva’s Ramaiya Vastavaiya and the other one is D-Day by director Nikhil Advani.

“I was independent from the time I was a kid. I even used to say no to my mother’s help during my school home-work. I would always solve my problems my way. I love my family, but I am such a person who would like to sleep and wake up alone. May be this is the only reason why I am devastated at the idea of marriage.” said Shruti Haasan while promoting her upcoming flick Ramaiya Vastavaiya.

Actress Shruti Haasan, daughter of legendary actor Kamal Haasan and actress Sarika, always wanted to be in showbiz, but was skeptical about facing the camera because she didn’t find herself attractive enough to be a heroine.

“I always wanted to become actress, but I always thought I am too ugly to be an actress. I was always in the sport, in the sun and always running around. I always thought heroines are so beautiful how will I be that beautiful? But I always wanted to be in the entertainment business. I always wanted to act, sing and be a part of it,” said Shruti who also sings.

The 27-year-old, who made her debut with Hindi movie “Luck”, will have two releases on June 19 – “D-Day” and “Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya”.

Shruti Haasan attended the music launch of film Ramaiya Vastavaiya wearing a Payal Singhal saree. Liked the pale yellow and black saree with plain black blouse. Loved the earring and messy hair but does her make up not look a bit strange…could it be the lighting? Still nice chic styling. What are you thinking?

Shruti Haasan opted for a Raakesh Agarwal gown at Filmfare Awards 2013.

Hmm….. did we just say that. That’s because we are on the fence with this style. The dress is nice enough and would have worked well but why do we feel that Shruti does not feel comfortable in it?

Is it her expression? She is not giving much away and had she smiled a bit more than maybe….maybe she could of looked sizzling…but that is not the case.

We appreciate the dress but did not get the wow feeling
