Vaishali S “Khwaja” Collection at WIFW 2012

Vaishali S the fashion label by Vaishali Shadangule based her collection on “Khwaja” concept. Khwaja is the word which is used by all the Sufi- saints and peer-fakeer to address the divine power. In the intuitive process of presenting this thought into a collection Vaishali used hand woven organic cotton to keep the purity of thought and the embellishment of beads were weaved into the fabric to interpret the thought into the garment. Mainly she used black and white colour to show two different sides of a world to achieve different silhouettes along with the draping to show the variety of the concept

We loved the concept as well. It looked so pure and spiritual, although we would probably not adorn the head gear.

Pankaj and Nidhi “Wycinanki” inspired collection at WIFW 2012

Pankaj and Nidhi’s collection at WIFW 2012 was inspired by Wycinanki which is a colourful folk art from Poland. The Wycinanki motifs were interpreted by hand cut felt fabrics that were appliqued onto the individual ensembles. Fabrisc used included sheep leather, wool jersey, faux wool fur, wool crepe and silk satin. The vivid hues were striking and bright.

Our choice was the indigo blue dress [photo 23]. Maybe it was the doves motifs that caught our eye.

Rajdeep Ranawat: A Bohemian Legend Collection at WIFW 2012

Rajdeep Ranawat interprets the dark, mystical, enigmatic essence of Bohemian creatures into wearable forms of art and commercial clothing influenced by their gypsy way of life for his collection at WIFW 2012.  He used a delicious use of rich fabrics such as silk velvets, silk satin, raw silks, habutai silk, georgettes and tulle apart from silk lycra and crepes with silhouettes ranging from resort kaftans, jump suits, jungle dresses to tunics, skirts, lycra pants and shirts…

The prints are bold yet understated with a Bohemian influence of vibrant paisleys, paint splatters, contoured and color blocked vines with Chantilly motifs, further entwined in zebra and tiger skins.

Additions to them are the cashmere mufflers, stoles and shawls with bohemian prints and delicate embellishments…

We loved two outfits, the pink pants with black tunic…..the cut of the tunic is very sleek [photo 13] and the dark aqua leggings with black and pink top [photo 7]. Would these be your choice as well?
